What We Got Aryi For His First Birthday
April 19, 2024
I understand that this is a lot. Some people will think it is ridiculous and expensive, but I am extra. I love toys and bins and projects. I love books. This works for us.
Wooden Climbing Triangle – Amazon – $179
I thought it would be great for Aryi to have something to climb on. This was a great decision. Aryi learned to climb up and down this triangle before he was walking. He still loves to go down the slide and put his animals down the slide.
Controller Teethers – Amazon – $? Currently Unavailable
This was my husband’s idea. Aryi had been chewing and playing with the tv controller. He thought this would help. It did not help much. He knew it wasn’t the real “clicker”.
3 in 1 Sports Center – Amazon – $19.99
This was a piece of crap. My husband is a soccer lover. Aryi is an all ball lover. I thought this would be the perfect toy for the two of them to play in the backyard. I should have known by the price. Don’t get this. It will break in a week.
Dino Squishmellow – Amazon – $24.99
We did a dinosaur theme for Aryi’s Birthday party. I wanted to get some of his presents dinosaur themed to match. I saw this dino squishmellow and was like if I am going to ever get him a squishmellow, I should probably go with this dino one. It is so funny. Ball was one of his first words. He called this squishmellow a ball for the longest time.
Tree Activity Center – Amazon – $119.95 (I believe this was less than 100 when I bought it.)
I wanted to get Aryi an Activity center. I think they are great for fine motor development. I went with this one because I thought it was adorable. I am glad I went with this one. Aryi used it a lot when learning to stand. He would hold on to this with one hand and play with the other, eventually he would let go and not even notice he was standing on his own. We love this.
Dinos in Volcano – Amazon – $37.99
More dinos. I thought this was super fun with the Dinosaur theme. Aryi does like stuffies and these come with their own case since you can stuff them all into the volcano.
Bike – Amazon – $37.99
Aryi loves this bike!! My husband was so against this bike for so long. Aryi was short at 1 and he wasn’t able to use it yet. It took a few months, but by 1 and a half, Aryi had gotten tall enough to ride his bike. Now he rides it around the house every single day. It is now my husband’s favorite thing I have ever bought. They also bring it outside and ride down the sidewalk.
Holztiger Dinos – Amazon – $22.49/$18.94/$23.94
As I say in every one of these, Aryi gets Holztiger animals at each holiday/birthday. I went with dinos for Aryi’s first birthday since we had a dino party. I absolutely adore these wooden toys. Aryi even used them as props in his 1 year old photos.
My First Book of Baby Signs – Amazon – $7.99
Communication is super important. I wanted to get this book to work with Aryi because sometimes small children find it easier to sign to communicate than talk at an early age. That was not true for Aryi. He was so fast to talk that his signs and words happened at about the same time.
Once Upon an Alphabet – Amazon – $18.59
I ADORE this book. For each letter you get a short story (about 3 pages long) that has a lot of words starting with that letter. For example, A has a story about an Astronaut. I have this book out next to our letter basket at all times. When Aryi picks this book, we can read the letter we are on.
Dino Potty Book – Amazon – $6.89
I thought this book was cute and went with the dino theme, however, it has been pretty useless until now since Aryi is still in diapers. After his second birthday, we plan on attempting to start potty training. I will bring this book out around that time.
Dino-pedia – Amazon – $13.99
I have no Idea what I was thinking when I bought this. It is absolutely not appropriate for a 1 year old. Too many words, not enough pictures. However, this book will definitely come in handy later.
My First 100 Words Book Series – Amazon – $60.82
Do not buy these books. The words in these books are ridiculous. The are absolutely no one’s first 100 words and definitely not developmentally appropriate for a toddler. This is one of the few purchases I fully regret.
