Do A Toy Rotation With Me #38

For some background introduction information on toy rotations see my first toy rotation blog at by clicking the link.

Last week’s toys and books:

We got a lot of use out of these toys at first, but it fell off as the two weeks went by, we had to take some away and then put them back out. The last two weeks overall have been a mess. The puzzles were a bust. Aryi isn’t quite ready for them yet. We are in a weird place where he is so advanced when it comes to all the other types of puzzles, but these are still a bit much. Aryi usually loves the Magnetic tiles, but he is getting bored of them. The music was a constant joy. Aryi barely touched the shape puzzles. He really loved the buttons and cones.

This week’s toys and books:

This week I really needed to clean things up. We got two toy boxes this past week, one from Kiwico and one from Lovevery. The goal this week is out with the old in with the new. We are going to be playing with our new toys.

Guitar (From My Childhood) – My mom and dad were cleaning out their house and brought my guitar from childhood to give to Aryi. He LOVES it. He is only supposed to use it with supervision because he sometimes gets excited and wants to hit it.

Playdough (Kiwico/Knowledge Crate) – I put out our new playdough kit because I am hoping we can do more playdough if he sees it and wants to grab it.

Bus (Lovevery) – Aryi has been singing a lot of wheels on the bus lately. I thought it would be great to put this out for him.

Blocks Puzzle (Kiwico) – We had a lot of fun with this, it was in Aryi’s room and he pulled it out. We stacked all the clear blocks. It was super fun. I thought to pull it out.

Shapes Puzzle (Lovevery) – Since we got the new shape puzzle, I thought it would be good to pull this one out too.

Picnic Set (Lovevery) – Aryi LOVES this. We just got it and he is obsessed. He loves to pretend he is drinking coffee like dad or tea like mom.

Spray Bottle and Squeegee (Lovevery) – This spray bottle looks super fun. I have a few Ideas of how to use this over the next week. I am excited for this one.

Emotions Toy (Lovevery) – Aryi loves to act happy and sad. He will say, I’m so happy, I’m so sad. It is like they know exactly what the kids will want. He will have a blast with this one.

Scale (Lovevery) – I am excited for this new toy. I pulled out a box of little toys to weigh. We can learn about heavier and lighter things this week.

Shapes Puzzle (Lovevery) – This new puzzle is super cool. It is shaped with different numbers of pegs. He mastered it immediately. I hope he can still have fun with it this week.

Books (Lovevery) – These new books are soooooo cute. I love them and am excited to dive into them this week.

Alphabet Basket – see below

Number Basket – see below

Tunnel (Lovevery/Kiwico) – We got a new tunnel from Kiwico and I attached it to the Lovevery one we have. I put the cones next to it so we can do an obstacle course this week.

Letter Basket:

This week we are changing out our basket to remove specific letters. It will be more about the entire alphabet. It is hard to keep this up with our playing preschool, so we will take a break and pick it up at M when we get there in playing preschool.

I have an alphabet puzzle. I will let Aryi Identify the letters from a few pieces and he can place the letters in his alphabet puzzle as we say A is for AAAA,  B is for BBBB, C is for CCCC, and so on. We can read whatever related books Aryi wants to that day. I have Alphabet books; ‘see, touch, feel ABC’, ‘abc’, ‘Once Upon an Alphabet’, ‘A is for Apple’ and ‘AB See”. Alphabet videos will be linked below.

Number Basket:

I am keeping this number basket the same. I put the tactile flashcards back in. I have peg boards with the numbers 1-10. I also have all of our number books in here: ”Numbers”, “How Many?”, “Counting with Barefoot Critters”, “Big and Little”, “Let’s Count”, “Baby Math”, “Poppy’s Surprise”, “Few and Many”, and “Pop-up Peekaboo Numbers”. Number videos will be linked below.
