Knowledge Crate Review 6: Fall Knowledge Crate 2024
October 22, 2024
Disclaimer
This Knowledge crate is supposed to be for children who are preschool aged, meaning 3+. Aryi is now 2 as I write this. I thought I would get it anyway. I did get the one WITHOUT water beads. I don’t even want those in the house. I know Aryi won’t be able to do everything that comes in the crate, but I think we could do enough that would make it worth the purchase. I also thought, whatever we don’t use, I can keep it for mommy preschool when he is actually 3. I think in this specific crate we will actually be able to do everything.
Activity Guide
This season, the crate is focusing on weather as a whole. I love that. I love that instead of just seasons the latest crates have been focused on other themes that also go with the season. Weather in particular is a great crate for us, because we have been talking about weather lately during preschool. Exploring the weather is going to be really good for Aryi.
Books
These books are great! As always, the books that they picked for this crate are just great. I love that they each cover a different type of weather. They are short and concise while giving a lot of information.
Rainbow Reactions Kit
They always include some kind of toy or kit that is not consumable in the kits. I love this little rainbow lab. We will be able to use it over and over again to practice color mixing, fine motor skills, and just have fun.
Sensory Play
I love all of the play dough. They have the best play dough. I don’t know how this play dough smells so much better than the rest of it, but it is the best. We needed some more play dough too. The little charms that come with it are super cute as well. We can also use the play dough for non weather related play. The only thing that wasn’t that great is the wooden tools that are included. They are not sealed or painted, so the play dough sticks to the wood.
Tracing/Prints
There are always tons of great prints included in these crates. We love the ISPYS and the Tracing mats. The cloud print is also a great print. It goes great with the included cloud book. It is fun to learn not just that there are clouds, but there are different types of clouds. The last print to talk about is the Weather Finger Play Print. Previously they have been included in the activity guide, but this time an entire print was made. I love that. I was able to put it in a protective sheet and hang it in our play space.
Playdough Mats
These play dough mats are great. The can be used to trace the weather words and make play dough in the shapes of the weather. This was a creative additive for them to include and pairs great with the sensory bin.
Art and Experiments
This crate contains, I think, nine art activities and 3 experiments. It is chocked full of activities and feels like it offers so much more than previous crates. There are art activities for each type of weather and you are instructed to read the related book. My favorite is the sun mixed media art project. I am saving the snow activities for winter. See Aryi’s Art Below.

Worth it?
It would cost you more than twice as much money to duplicate this box with amazon products. It is absolutely worth it to buy the crate. I love having pre-made activities to do. All I have to do is pull out the kit and we can do art and experiments that actually teach Aryi something. There is so much included that I don’t know how they make it work.
