January 16, 2025

For some background introduction information on toy rotations see my first toy rotation blog at by clicking the link.

Last week’s toys and books:

Out with Christmas, in with ice and water. Aryi loved all of his toys. He played with every single one of them, but now it is time for something different.

This week’s toys and books:

This week we have the preschool theme of water/ice Ii. I have only a few toys that go with this, so the rest are just toys that we love.

Spray bottle (Lovevery) – This goes with our water theme.

Puzzle (Lovevery) – Leaving this puzzle out from last week. We are still mastering it. He can do it if he just does circles, squares, or triangles. Now we are working on doing the entire thing.

Dot Board (Lovevery) – This is a toy that Aryi loves. It was actually the first one he pulled off the shelf.

Puzzle (Lovevery) – This puzzle is great. I love that we can do it by color, shape, or number of pegs.

Aryi Puzzle (Amazon) – I love this one. It helped Aryi to learn to spell his name.

Button Board (Lovevery) – This is a great toy for color matching and pattern matching.

Peg Board (Lovevery) – Aryi loves to pretend this is a cake, cupcakes, or a cookie. It is so funny how creative he is.

Alphabet Letters (Knowledge Crate) – We can work on our letters with these, maybe stack them, maybe make letters in dough.

Mailbox (Knowledge Crate) – This is another good toy for learning letters and sounds.

Pegboard (Kiwico) – This pegboard has been a staple since before Aryi turned 1.

Penguins on ice (Knowledge Crate) – This goes with our ice theme.

Water painting books (Target) – These are super fun. You paint them with water and the picture shows up. It goes with our water and ice theme.

Emotion Peg People (Lovevery) – I love these. I don’t think we got enough play with them after christmas. I thought we might have a chance this week to match them to the emotions in the matching book. I paired this with the emotion mirror to match these as well.

Emotion Mirror (Lovevery) – See above.

Book Cart (Lovevery) – This cart has all of the Lovevery books we have plus the winter books that I pulled out and our new Knowledge crate books. Aryi has been loving to just curl up on the chair and read with me lately. I thought this was perfect.

Kitchen (Lovevery) – I want to start using this as a real kitchen for Aryi with his snacks, a place he can wash his hands. Then I will just pull out other things to play with water sometimes.

Check out my playlists. I have number playlists, letter playlists, and a morning binder playlists.

Sensory Bins:

Dinosaurs (Knowledge Crate) – I will be leaving this out indefinitely.

Weather (Knowledge Crate) – I will be leaving this out indefinitely.

Christmas Bins for December:

Red and Green – This basket has green and red beads and pipe cleaners for stringing. Aryi has been loving stringing things lately.

Hot Cocoa – Aryi can make us hot cocoa cups.

Penguins in Snow – This basket is a snow storm of winter with penguins, snowmen, snowflakes, and trees. I put in a tong for fine motor skills.

Find and Count Penguins – Find all the penguins and put them on the ice. Make snow men. Let the snow fall.

New Sensory Bins

Construction Bin – This was new from Christmas. This will come in handy when we have our construction unit for playing preschool. I will leave it out indefinitely.

Space Bin – This was new from Christmas. This will be a good introduction into space for him. I will leave it out indefinitely.

Woodlands Bin – This was new from Christmas. Aryi likes sticks and woods. This should be fun for him. I will leave it out indefinitely.
