Last week’s toys and books:
We finished our water/ice theme and are moving onto our construction theme. Most of these toys were completely unrelated to the water theme, but we had tons of fun with them anyway.
This week’s toys and books:
We have a construction theme for playing preschool this week. I tend to pull out toys related to the preschool theme and toys that will help us to accomplish the activities layed out in the curriculum.
Blockset (Lovevery) – construction play
Puzzles (Melissa and Doug) – Aryi has been loving puzzles. He has been working on mastering these.
Puzzle (Lovevery) – This seemed a little construction related. You have to put the pieces just right. Aryi is still working on mastering this.
Piano (Gift) – I like to include a musical toy that can be played with more independently.
Penguins on Ice (Knowledge Crate) – Aryi LOVES these. He never gets sick of them. We are still doing winter things, and I have a penguin craft to do this week.
Hammer and Nail Toy (Lovevery) – construction play
Mega Blocks (Gift) – construction play
Emotion Peg People and Card Holder (Lovevery) – We really need more work on emotions. I assume this will be an ongoing thing throughout childhood. These toys are helping us with that.
Construction Vehicles (Gifts) – construction play
Prints and Flashcards (Knowledge Crate) – We have ISPYs, Penguin games, Flash cards, sing alongs, and more. I like to have these available for when the toys get boring, more for me than for him. Aryi could play kitchen all day. Me, not so much.

Sensory Bins:
Dinosaurs (Knowledge Crate) – I will be leaving this out indefinitely.
Weather (Knowledge Crate) – I will be leaving this out indefinitely.
Penguins in Snow – This basket is a snow storm of winter with penguins, snowmen, snowflakes, and trees. I put in a tong for fine motor skills.
Find and Count Penguins – Find all the penguins and put them on the ice. Make snow men. Let the snow fall.
Construction Bin – This was new from Christmas. This will come in handy when we have our construction unit for playing preschool. I will leave it out indefinitely.
Space Bin – This was new from Christmas. This will be a good introduction into space for him. I will leave it out indefinitely.
Woodlands Bin – This was new from Christmas. Aryi likes sticks and woods. This should be fun for him. I will leave it out indefinitely.
