Dr. Brown's Milestones Sippy Cup Review
September 29, 2023
We have been STRUGGLING with cups. I have bought about 10 different types of cups. We have tried all of them: straw cups, open mouth cups, sippy cups, 365 cups, etc. Aryi hates them all. He will tolerate straw cups and open mouth cups, but he is still choking down his water.
I decided to take a chance on this cup, after countless others simply because it had a straw and I could close it to carry in our diaper backpack without spilling everywhere. This was one of the best decisions I have made.
We absolutely LOVE this cup. I will shout it from the rooftops. I will tell every mom of a toddler I know. I will tell Aryi’s therapist, maybe it can help another kid.
The straw is flat. This allows water to come into your mouth without rushing in and choking you. This straw allows so much more control over the amount of water you are sucking up. Also, you have to suck a little harder to pull the water up. This also helps control the amount of water being pulled up. Aryi NEVER chokes when drinking from this cup. Aryi has been drinking more water since using this cup. Due to the handles and straw, I can just give it when he is playing. He walks around drinking his water. He will throw it aside and pick it back up later.
We love that you can close this cup. We can bring it with us on the go.
You can pull the straw out and wash it in the dishwasher. At this point if something is not dishwasher safe I don’t want it, so the fact that this is dishwasher safe is so nice.
I am now working with Aryi to transition to drinking his milk from this instead of his bottle. THIS IS HARD. Aryi loves his bottle. It is comforting to him and helps him sleep. But he can’t drink from his bottle for forever, and this is something that I could see him being able to transition to.
