What My 18 Month Old Ate Today 10.24.2023

Disclaimer – I am not a nutritionist or an expert in nutrition in any way. I am just a mom sharing what my son ate on this day. This is not a meal plan or a guide for anyone else. This is just what works for us.

Milk – 06:00am – 180mL/6oz Whole Cow’s Milk with 2 oz Water

We go to a developmental specialist periodically to check on Aryi’s development as a premature baby. When we go, we see a NP, OT, PT, and SLP. One of the things the Speech Therapist goes over is diet. She mentioned we should be giving Aryi 2-2.5 cups (specifically 17-20oz) of milk daily. She suggested giving about 6 oz of milk with 2 oz of water so Aryi can still have the full cup that he wants. I thought this was a great idea and could really be what worked for us.

Breakfast – 07:30am – Oatmeal, Yogurt, and Chocolate Milk

Aryi loves his oatmeal. Our fridge is working again so he can have his yogurt as well. I also gave him 2 oz of Chocolate milk as a little treat. We had some Chocolate Milk since my husband wanted some when I went to the Grocery.

Snack 1 – 9:00am – Target Starbucks Cake Pop

I love to get a Starbucks, especially when walking around Target. Aryi loves a good cake pop, especially the dog one. He held it and said dog. It was so cute.

Snack 2 – 10:00am – Cheese Its

We went to a children’s event at a local library. I gave Aryi a snack to keep him settled in his seat. This is a great hack if it is near snack time.

Lunch – 11:30am – Coconut Curry Shrimp with Peas and Carrots

Aryi’s dad makes amazing coconut curry. It is not spicy at all, so we are comfortable giving it to Aryi. He ate this up. He ate so much.

Milk – 12:30pm – 180mL/6oz Whole Cow’s Milk with 2 oz Water with Vitamin

Snack 3 – 4:30pm – Teething Biscuit and Grain Bar

Aryi wanted a snack, so I gave him a bar. He was still hungry, but I did not want him to eat too much before dinner, so I gave him a teething biscuit.

Dinner – 05:30pm – Chicken Wing, Bread, and Pouch

Aryi’s dad has been cooking up a storm this week. He made chicken wings in the air fryer. He fed Aryi this meal while I was at the gym. He tore some chicken meat off the chicken wings. He gave Aryi a piece of bread with this because Aryi loves bread and my husband thinks it’s fun to watch him tear it apart. He also thought Aryi needed some “green vegetables” so he gave Aryi this pouch with broccoli, apple, and pear.

Milk – 07:00pm – 180mL/6oz Whole Cow’s Milk with 2 oz Water

We celebrated Dashain today. Here is a cute picture of us as a family.
