Do A Toy Rotation With Me 4

November 9, 2023

For some background introduction information on toy rotations see my first toy rotation blog at by clicking the link.

Last week’s toys and books:

The theme for this past week was Animals and Alphabet, with the small subtheme of fall since I am keeping out the fall books, I did renew a few of the fall books and exchange some for other fall books.

Aryi mostly played with his Fisher Price farm. He was absolutely obsessed with it the entire week. He played with every single toy that I pulled out except for his wooden animal books. This is fine. I have a huge amount of Animal books that kept him busy this week.

This week’s toys and books:

The theme for this week was Colors, Shapes, and Garden. We got a Kiwico box that we opened today, so I will be including the 3 toys that came with that kit in this toy rotation.

Drawer Drop Box (Kiwico) – This was a new toy from Aryi’s newest Kiwico kit, so I put it out even though it isn’t exactly this theme.

Pullback Car (Kiwico) – This was also from the newest kit and that is why it is out.

Pegboard (Kiwico) – This is also from the newest Kiwico kit. This is the toy that gave me the theme of colors. I plan on working with Aryi to try to match the colors on the pegs to the colors on the rings.

Garden Puzzle (Lovevery) – This falls under the theme. Aryi loves to pretend to eat these veggie puzzle pieces. He is working on mastering this puzzle. It is much harder than the circle puzzles he has been used to until this point.

Blockset (Lovevery) – This Lovevery blockset is beautiful and a great excuse to introduce colors into play. There is a shape sorter as a part of this blockset. He gets really mad when he can not get the more difficult shapes to go in, but I think that is good sometimes to try to work on maybe not getting so upset with that.

Posting box (Lovevery) – Aryi is still obsessed with this. This is going to be the 3rd week of this toy being in rotation, and Aryi is still playing with it a ton. I also think this toy goes with the theme since you are posting carrots.

Stacker (Lovevery) – This toy is beautiful. It is a go to toy when color is the theme. “Now can you stack the blue circle”, and hand him the blue circle to stack.

Garden Soft Book (Lovevery) – This is on theme and I pull it out anytime I pull out the garden puzzle. This book has a super cute bunny that eats carrots from the garden. It goes over themes of recycling that are way too advanced for an 18 month old. But Aryi really enjoys feeding the bunny and walking the dog.

Soft Activity Book (Lovevery) – I just pull this out when I pull out the other soft book because I wouldn’t know where to put it otherwise.

Shape Puzzle (Kiwico) – Aryi loves these, he has almost completely mastered it. He can say circle now and knows which one is a circle. He can also point to the square and triangle.

Shape Blocks (Kiwco) – I thought these would be fun to point out shapes with Aryi.

Shape, Color, Fruit, Vegetable, and Fall books. The Library books are not in this photo because I did my returns/exchanges that day.
