Lovevery Review "The Extras"
November 7, 2023
These are 3 of the presents I got Aryi for Christmas last year. He was 8 months old, and looking back, he was way too young for the peg people. I saw that Target had some Lovevery toys, and knew I needed to get Aryi a stacker. Stackers are just overall amazing for developing fine motor and critical thinking skills in babies. When I went to buy the stacker, I saw the other toys that Lovevery had out at Target. I loved these peg people and thought they would be great for posting and color learning, so I also bought those. I bought the wooden book, just because I have 2 wooden books from Lovevery and wanted to complete the collection.
Wooden Animal Book
We love these wooden books, and I am so glad I was able to complete our collection with this book. We love to practice naming animals with these cute little books. However, I would say this is completely unnecessary and the same thing can be done with any realistic animal book. It is, however, absolutely beautiful.
There is nothing really like this on Amazon, but like I said, all you really need is a book with photos of animals.
Lovevery: $14.22
Amazon Dupe: There is nothing quite like this
Rainbow Peg People
These are gorgeous. The peg people come in 3 different skin tones, hello diversity. They also come in 7 different colors of outfit. The thought is to match the color on the peg person’s clothes with the color on the cup and put the person into their corresponding cup. The idea of helping to learn with colors is great, however, Aryi has no concern with colors. He does not care or want to know which color is which. It is so funny to see that he already shows interest in things such as animals, his body parts, and counting. At the same time, he couldn’t care less about things like colors or the alphabet.
You do get 4 peg people in the block set from lovevery. These people do come in different skintones, with different colored outfits. However, the ones in the block set do not come with the cups, so you do not get the posting part of the toy.
The Amazon Dupe I found is $6 more expensive. It does have more colors of the peg people’s clothes/cups, but there is no diversity, all of the peg people are white.
Lovevery: $29.54
Amazon Dupe: $35.49
Wooden Stacker
This wooden stacker is fully loved. I would say this is an intermediate stacker. Aryi first mastered a plastic stacker that was bought by his grandmother for the same Christmas. Then he mastered this stacker as a sort of a stepping stone. Now he is mastering (mostly has mastered) the stacker that came in one of our 1 year old Playkits. Therefore, I would say this is a completely unnecessary, extra toy, especially if you get the playkits.
You can get a wooden or plastic stacker on Amazon for half or less than half price from this Lovevery Stacker. If you are only going to get 1 stacker, I recommend the plastic fisher price stacker you can get on amazon. If you can get both and like won’t be bothered by it, totally get both. Because, yes these are the same toy, but to me they have different difficulty levels.
Lovevery: $19.69
Amazon Dupe: $10.89 for the wooden one and $6.10 for the plastic one
In short, you shouldn’t buy these toys. I actually don’t recommend any of them. Especially if you are subscribed to the playkits and have the blockset from Lovevery. Yes, the Lovevery quality is there. There is no loss of quality just because these are sold at target. All of these toys are extra versions of toys you are already getting. The concepts learned by these toys can all be taught by toys you are getting in your kits.
