Do A Toy Rotation With Me #11
December 28, 2023
For some background introduction information on toy rotations see my first toy rotation blog at by clicking the link.
Last week’s toys and books:
As usual, Aryi really enjoyed playing with the animals, making animal sounds, naming them, feeding them, etc.
The car drop, carrot poster, and bunnies were not as much of a hit this time around. Aryi really really enjoys farm animals, so those got the most play.
The shape puzzle is still frustrating to him. This time he learned to put the 3 shape pieces together and then stick them in the puzzle. That helped him out a bit.
All of the animals (other than the bunnies) were a huge hit. Aryi loved them all. He played with them nonstop.
I felt like we did less reading this week than normal. It was mostly at naptime and bedtime, so we read mostly bedtime books and Christmas books.
This week’s toys and books:
Since Christmas is next Monday and I want Aryi to get to play with all of his presents, I think it will be good to leave out the animals and just put out the Music kit we got from Lovevery today. Then I can do the next toy rotation a few days early and replace all of the animals with Christmas toys.
The Car Drop (Lovevery) – Aryi barely played with this, but since there is a new music kit and I still have out the C basket, I think I will leave it out for this next toy rotation.
Farm animals and related toys (Kiwico) – Aryi loves these. I think he will continue to play with them for the rest of the rotation.
Bugs (Lovevery) – These are so fun. We love counting the bugs, putting them in and on, taking them out, opening and closing the container. They are going to stay out for more fun this week.
Lock busy box (Lovevery) – I had an extra spot open so I decided to just leave this out.
Sea animals (Aquarium) – Aryi actually played ok with these last week.
Sea animal matching game (Aquarium) – Aryi doesn’t get the matching game just yet, but what I have been doing with this is holding like a shark and having him find me the same shark. He is catching on to that game.
Music Kit (Lovevery) – He LOVES this kit. Every part of it is amazing. I want to give him a chance to explore it this week in the rotation.
Animal books – Since I am leaving out the animals, I will leave out the animal books as well.
Christmas books – Christmas is coming up, of course the Christmas books stay out.
Lovevery Blockset, Lovevery Books, Hello, World! Books, Balls, Busy Tree, and Playgym are out as always.
