Easter Basket 2024 with Sensory Bins (+ What We Got Aryi Last Year For Easter Too)
March 14, 2024
Intro
I love to make holiday baskets for Aryi to enjoy as we celebrate. I feel like my baskets help him learn a little bit about the holiday ahead of time. We get to celebrate for an entire month with fun little toys and activities. None of this is necessary, I am just extra. You can also do a cheaper version of this with only dollar tree and library items.
In this blog I am going to go through everything I got Aryi this year, then at the end I will go through some of the things I got him last year that I am pulling back out. I plan to pull out the old stuff along with the library books and sensory bins on March 1st so we can celebrate all month. I will then put the basket of new stuff out on easter.
Easter 2024
Peeps Cereal – Target – $I didn’t keep the receipt. Sorry.
I thought this cereal looked very fun and we could have it as a cute little snack in the weeks leading up to easter. I do not give cereal as breakfast, because it doesn’t fill anyone up, but I do like to have it on hand sometimes as a snack.
Library books – $Free
‘Baby’s First words: Easter’, ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s Easter Colors’, ‘The Easter Egg is Missing!’, and ‘The Very Hungry Caterpiller’s Easter Egg Hunt’
I love adding to my holiday baskets with Library books. They are an amazing, free way to add some fun and learning to you holidays. Aryi in particular loves books, so this works for him.
Frog stuffy – Dollar Tree – $5.00
I saw this at the dollar tree and knew I needed it for the Basket. This kind of created a small frog theme. It was the inspiration for the Holztiger frog and frog bath toys. Every easter is bunnies and chicks, frogs is a fun little departure from this norm.
Holztiger frog – Amazon – $12.99
I love to add a Holztiger animal to each of Aryi’s baskets. One day he will have so many wooden animals. These are very nice quality wooden toys that are supposed to last forever. We will see if this is true.
Bunny headband – Dollar Tree – $1.25
Aryi loves fun hats and glasses for the holidays. I thought this fit that role for this basket.
Tub paint – Dollar Tree – $1.25 each and Bath Crayons – Target Dollar Spot – $1.00
I have been interested in getting Aryi some fun bath paint or crayons. I found both and thought Easter would be a fun time for this.
Bunny bubbles – Target Dollar Spot – $1.00
Aryi love, love, loves bubbles. I was glad I found some at target. They had some for Halloween. I was sad when there was none for Christmas or Valentine’s Day. So I was very happy they brought them back for Easter.
Ball eggs with candy – Dollar Tree – $1.25
Aryi loves balls. When I saw these ball eggs, I knew Aryi needed them for his basket. I will put some candy that we already have in them. We are not big on candy.
Craft – Dollar Tree – $Free (did not get to this last year)
I love a dollar tree craft project. We always have a ton of fun with these.
Window Clings – Dollar Tree – $1.25
Aryi and his dad have been writing letters in the fog on our window lately since it has been cold outside. When I saw this window cling, I thought of them and knew this would be a fun little activity for them to do together.
Blippi Coloring Book – Dollar Tree $1.25
Aryi loves Blippi, when I saw this, it was a no brainer. I snatched it up. It is not very easter themed, but it is something for him to be excited about.
Letters – Target Dollar Spot – $3.00
I could not believe I found these at the dollar spot. Aryi loves my alphabet basket. He loves learning his ABCs. I thought this would be a fun thing to add to our alphabet basket, so I decided to get it for easter.
Animal Magnets – Amazon – $9.98
We needed some stronger magnets to put Aryi’s art up on the fridge. I saw these and thought they were cute and I could add them to the basket.
Gardening Set – Amazon – $32.95
Aryi’s dad requested a gardening set. They have been spending a lot of time outside and with spring coming up, he wants to start gardening with Aryi.
Clothes – Target
Shorts – $5.00 each
Shirts – $5.00 each
Swimsuit – $20.00
Hat $10.00
Sensory Bin Stuff – Everything I do not list a price for I already had.
Kinetic Sand – Amazon – $23.99
Play Foam – Amazon – $8.95
Eggs – Target – $1.00
Frog – Dollar Tree – $1.75
Rainbow – Amazon – $Free (This was bought for St. Patrick’s Day so we had it and I am not counting the price in this basket.)
Cookie Cutters – Amazon – $5.99
Frogs – Dollar Tree – $1.75
Carrots – Dollar Tree – $1.75
Sensory Bin 1
Rainbow playfoam
I did not know what else to put with this, but I kind of think it does not need anything else. Playfoam is fun on its own.
Sensory Bin 2
Rainbow playdough and cookie cutters
Aryi loves all the playdough. He asks to play with dough almost everyday. When Aryi and his dad can not go outside, they usually end up doing play dough.
Sensory Bin 3
Rainbow kinetic sand, eggs, and a frog
I am very excited for the kinetic sand. I threw some eggs and a frog in there for fun.
Sensory Bin 4
Green rice, eggs, frog, and carrots
Rice is a classic add in for us. I thought about a little garden with grass rice. We can bury the carrots in the rice, let the frog hop across the garden, and hide easter eggs. I wanted bunnies for our garden, but couldn’t find any. I may pull out our Lovevery bunnies when we play with this.
The total price for everything was $155.36 plus tax, plus the cereal I don’t have the price for. Just a reminder that I did buy clothes that Aryi will need since it will be getting hot here and he does not have many shorts or short sleeve shirts right now. I also got the gardening kit my husband wanted for Aryi.
Easter 2023
These are the things I got last year that I will be pulling out again this year.
Play scarfs – Amazon – $?it was a year ago
Aryi loves these play scarfs. They end up in toy rotation sometimes. He is so creative and finds so many ways to play with them.
Weather feelings book – Amazon – $?it was a year ago
This weather feelings book is so fun.
Babies Love Easter book – Amazon – $?it was a year ago
Aryi loves these Babies Love flap books I have several for the different holidays. Flap books are always a hit.
Singing bunny – Amazon – $?it was a year ago
Aryi adores this bunny. I have all of his singing stuffies in the car now. Mickey and the dog are in my car. This bunny is in my husband’s car. He loves to play with these types of toys while riding along. He will sing parts of some of the songs now.
Holztiger Chicken – Amazon – $?it was a year ago
I wanted a wooden toy for the basket, I saw this baby chick. Enough said.
Eggs – Amazon – $?it was a year ago
These eggs are a wonderful toy. I am so glad I got these last year. They have shape and color practice and are super cute with little emotional faces. I rotate these into the toy rotation, they were even a part of my Letter Ee basket because eggs start with the letter e. We have tons of fun with this toy.
