As always, this play guide has pictures of each toy that are labeled with the name, a short blurb about something relevant to this age, developmental information for this age, ways to play with the toys in this kit, and extra ways to play. In this playguide you get to read about the importance of reading. There is tons of developmental information about communication, patterns, math, problem solving, and motor skills as well as things to do to support this development. I do not use this to test my child and see if he is meeting these goals. I use this as a thing to work on, ways to support him. There is a wealth of information in this book, and so many ways to play. It would be impossible to duplicate this.

Every Which Weigh Scales and Pails
This was super cute to me. Aryi is at the point where he fully understands the difference between big, small, and medium with respect to size. We need to start talking about this with respect to weight. The only problem I have for this is that there is nothing for the kids to weigh. I understand we can weigh anything, but having some weights, maybe that were labeled would help. I gathered a bunch of items to use from other Lovevery toys. I love that the pans are metal, we can hear the items hit the bottom as we drop them in. The dupe is a few dollars cheaper, but it looks like cheap plastic and Lovevery’s quality is truly unmatched.

Sort and Stack Peg Puzzle
I was very excited about this puzzle because Aryi has outgrown the rest of his puzzles, but is not quite ready for real puzzles yet. I was a little disappointed that he mastered the puzzle immediately on the first try. I hope he will still be interested in it and I can find new ways to play with it. I love that there are shapes and you get 4 different colors of each shape. Unlike the dupe, I can have Aryi sort by color and put say all the blue pieces, then yellow, then green, then orange. This puzzle is great. The dupe is about half the price and has a fifth shape, so you get to play with a pentagon that has 5 holes as well as the rest of the shapes. I can’t talk about the quality of the dupe, but the Lovevery puzzle is of amazing quality as expected.

Pinkies Up Picnic Set
This picnic set is very cute. I love the vibrant colors. Usually cooking things or tea sets are like pink or with princesses or something. I love that this is more gender neutral. It goes really well with the sink we got in a previous kit and we can wash the dishes with those. It is like an add on to that previous toy. Aryi is already OBSESSED with this set. He loves cooking utensils and cups and pretending to drink coffee or tea. He has a blast with this toy. You can get a similar set for 10 more dollars on Amazon that is frankly ugly.

Squeeky Clean Squeegee Set
Aryi is already obsessed with this squeegee set. He loves to spray the water and wipe it off. We have to make sure that he does not get our cats. I don’t really have much else to say about this, it is what it is. You can find a cleaning set from Melissa and Doug for about 5 dollars cheaper that has so many more items in it along with a little catty. This is the only time in this crate, but I do believe the Amazon Dupe wins.

Emotion Match Mirror and Card Set
Aryi loves mirrors, pictures of people, and emotions. I knew this toy would be a hit, but I did not realize how big of a hit it would be. This is probably his favorite toy in the box. He is always looking through the cards and talking about what emotion they have. The quality is nice and the cards are hard like plastic. You can get a mirror and card set on Amazon for a few dollars cheaper.

‘My Favorite Nature Buddy’
This book is very cute and makes me want to take a nature walk (unfortunately it is too hot at the time I’m writing this). I love that she is with her grandpa. They see lots of little critters. She takes off her shoes and makes a total mess. This book is perfect. You can find a cartoon book about a nature walk on Amazon for about half the price, but I just know it isn’t the same.

‘A Visit With Captain Shelby’
Aryi LOVES this book. He loves firefighters, he loves fire (Ago) and blowing (few) it out. My dad is a firefighter and with everything I know that they teach kids this is THE BEST POSSIBLE fire book ever. It shows how firefighters look scary in their gear, but it’s just a firefighter and they are there to help. It brings you on a tour of the trucks. It even teaches you to stop, drop, and roll. It even has flaps.
‘When You Love A Living Thing’
This book is great for helping to teach kids to be gentle with their pets and little creatures. I know it has been difficult to teach Aryi to be gentle with his cats. He thinks loving them is to mush them in a hug. He loves this book, he loves to see real animals. This book is also a flap book. Those are the best, aren’t they.
The Amazon Dupes are cheaper, but clearly not as good.

Based on the price of the Amazon items, no this box is not worth it, since you can duplicate it for $13 cheaper. However, I do not look at it like that. The quality of the Items in the Lovevery Kit is unmatched. The books are truly unmatched. I wish they had an option to just buy their books, but since that is simply not an option, I will buy every crate to get every book. The firefighter book is the best way you could possibly do this kind of book. Every Item has been a hit, and I wouldn’t personally choose the dupes.
