Kiwico Review 16: Deluxe Panda Crate, Let's Create! (30-31 Months)
September 19, 2024
Wonder Play Guide
You get a Wonder Play Guide in each crate that is specific for that age range and development. Dr. D answers a question, there are panda tips, you get instructions for how to play with each of the toys in the crate, and DIY or cheap activities to do. This is not duplicable. I appreciate the wealth of information in these play guides very much. I always love to sit down and open these up after getting a new kit and see what I can learn about this stage.
Kiwico: $0.00
Amazon: Not Replicable
Scribble Crayons
These crayons are super fun. I loved these. I think these will be super fun for other kids. However, Aryi is not as interested in crayons. He really loves markers. You can get animal shaped crayons from amazon for a few dollars cheaper.
Kiwico: $15.00
Amazon: $9.99
Hungry Bears Playdough Set
This playdough set is so much fun. It was a huge hit with Aryi. He loved it. He played with it for so long. He loves feeding the bears. It is funny, I thought he would love feeding the alphabet monster, he didn’t, but he loved feeding these bears. He likes the scissors. We are getting into those recently. The carrying case is great. I have a few examples of how to turn this into a portable sensory bin with other stuff. You can see that in the unboxing video. You can get a playdough kit for half the price on Amazon.
Kiwico: $15.00
Amazon: $7.19
Water Play Mat
This water mat kind of sucks. It is super dull and the pen does not work well. You could use it with a paint brush and water, but it still kind of sucks. I also hate this wet bag, so I cut it off. There is a similar thing on Amazon for a few dollars cheaper.
Kiwico: $15.00
Amazon: $13.95
Peekaboo Play Tunnel
This tunnel is fun. I love that it separates into 3 pieces. I love that it has the circles to use as doors or lids. This tunnel is very unique and one of a kind. Also, the fabric it is made out of is terrible. It feels like terrible, just bad sheets. There is a slightly cheaper one on Amazon of unknown quality.
Kiwico: $27.00
Amazon: $21.19
‘Peck, Peck, Peck’
This book is super cute. A woodpecker learns to peck and pecks holes in everything. Aryi likes to say peck peck peck and poke all the holes in each page. This book is a few dollars more on Amazon.
Kiwico: $10.00
Amazon: $14.83
Worth it?
Amazon Dupes total out to be $67.15 + tax
The Panda crate can come in a few buying options.
Essentials Crate:
$50 + tax/crate for 1 crate ($50 + tax total)
$48 + tax/crate for 3 crates ($144 + tax total)
$45 + tax/crate for 6 crates ($270 + tax total)
Plus Crate:
$80 + tax/crate for 1 crate ($80 + tax total)
$76 + tax/crate for 3 crates ($228 + tax total)
$72 + tax/crate for 6 crates ($432 + tax total)
Deluxe Crate:
$90 + tax/crate for 1 crate ($90 + tax total)
$86 + tax/crate for 3 crates ($250 + tax total)
$82 + tax/crate for 6 crates ($492 + tax total) – This is the one I bought and will be
comparing to.
Is it worth it? No. This box was not worth it for us. The only things that were that big of a hit were the play dough and the tunnel and those could be bought from Amazon. This kit sucks and if you are not buying the whole year I would skip this one.
Kiwico: $82.00 + tax
Amazon: $67.15 + tax
