Kiwico Review 13: Deluxe Let's Experiment! Crate (Months 24-25)
July 23, 2024
Disclaimer
My son was born prematurely. He was born at 26 weeks and 6 days (3 months and 1 day early). If this box is for a baby 24-25 months, that means it should work for Aryi 22-27 months, in theory. Aryi was starting to catch up to his age at about a year. He is now fully caught up and surpassed developmental milestones for his age. That means these toys should be appropriate for him now. We are very proud of how far he has come. I feel that all of this makes our experience with development and play particularly unique.
Wonder Play Guide
You get a Wonder Play Guide in each crate that is specific for that age range and development. Dr. D answers a question, there are panda tips, you get instructions for how to play with each of the toys in the crate, and DIY or cheap activities to do.

Color Card Games
This little card game set is super cute and very fun. There are tons of ways to play with it. There are 2 sets of cards and 2 sets of circles. You can match circle to circle, card to card, card to circle, or dice to any of them. You can roll the dice and find the cards and/or circles that match it. You can work on rainbow order. There are tons of possibilities. Aryi enjoys this game a lot. I also love that there is this little wooden holder to store everything, however it would be better with a lid. You could get a set of flashcards off of Amazon for like $11 cheaper, but that is just cards. It doesn’t have any of the game type activities to do.

Color Lab
We haven’t used this yet, so I do not have much to review with this toy. I am saving it for when we do color mixing in our preschool homeschool curriculum. I think it will be perfect for that. I have done similar activities with ice, colored water, pipettes and cups. He loved what we did with pipettes and color mixing in the past. You can get a similar kit on Amazon for a few more dollars.

Color Station
This toy is so much fun for Aryi. He loves to look through the colored plastic. He pretends they are glasses. We talk about the colors and what happens when you put two together. I love that it gives you 2 of each color so that you can make all the primary colors at one time. I love that this one also has a holder so that you can really observe what is happening without having to hold the colors together. You can get similar paddles with no holder from Amazon for about half the price.

Stacking Wooden Tree Set
This stacking tree is super fun and cute. You can stack all the leaves, on or off of the tree. You can sort the leaves into colors. There is also a squirrel on wheels that you can pull back and let him roll. Aryi really likes this toy. This toy is super sturdy and of very good quality. It is almost half as much as the dupe I found, but the dupe has a bunch of different animals.

Mix It Up!
This book is very cute. It is interactive. You pretend to be mixing paint and turn the primary colors into secondary colors. You see what happens with each mixture. It is very cute. The only thing is that you can buy this same exact book on Amazon for $7.99.

Is it worth it? Not sure. This crate is really a toss up. If you are interested in every single toy, you only saved about a dollar by buying this crate. If you are not interested in every toy, it would make way more sense to check out Amazon. This one is really a toss up.
