For some background introduction information on toy rotations see my first toy rotation blog at by clicking the link.

Last week’s toys and books:

Aryi had so much fun doing his puzzles over and over. The cars were also great fun. We are super excited for the coming week and ready to switch things up.

This week’s toys and books:

This week we are starting preschool (Playing Preschool). The first week is about apples, so I thought a farm/garden theme would work for this week.

Sensory Bins (Knowledge Crate) – We have out the sensory bins as we have had out for months. They are just there if Aryi wants to play with one.

Music Basket – I left this the same as last week. It has been working to just have a few musical instruments.

Posting Toy (Lovevery) – This toy is from when Aryi was smaller, but he has recently mastered the little pull tab to drop the pegs.

Bug Puzzles (Amazon) – This just goes with a garden/farm theme.

Pop Toy (Kiwico) – This just came in our Kiwico Panda Crate, so we have it out.

Fishing Toy (Kiwico) – This just came in our Kiwico Panda Crate, so we have it out.

Puzzle (Kiwico) – This just came in our Kiwico Panda Crate, so we have it out.

Cactus Counters (Knowledge Crate) – We are still working in our Knowledge crate, so I thought I would leave this out.

Blockset (Lovevery) – This will stay out to give Aryi more chances to grab it.

Stars and Tweezers (Lovevery) – Since Aryi recently played with tongs at the children’s museum and did a great job, I thought I would pull out some tweezers. These have been too difficult for him until now.

Apple Tree (Amazon) – I thought I would pull this out since we are starting our apple lessons. We can count apples.

My Rain Printables and related books (ThisMomThing on etsy) – We can go through my prints more this week. I also have related books pulled.

Rainbow (Amazon) – This is just out from June. I just left it out. I didn’t have anything to put in it’s place.

Flowers (Lovevery) – This just goes with a garden/farm theme.

Farm Busy Board (Kiwico) – This just goes with a garden/farm theme.

Bugs (Lovevery) – This just goes with a garden/farm theme.

Bunnies (Lovevery) – This just goes with a garden/farm theme.

Garden (Kiwico) – This just goes with a garden/farm theme.

Farm Set (Kiwico) – This just goes with a garden/farm theme.

Racing Cars (Lovevery) – Just keeping these out because we are still enjoying them.

Letter Basket:

This week we are keeping our letter Kk basket. The videos I will be playing are linked below if you are interested in playing them yourself.

I say the letter and show it to Aryi. Then I will say the letter sound. This is a Kk and it says kkkkkk. We go through words that start with the Letter Kk. I pull out the items as we go through the words. For Kk, I have a kitten, kiwi, and Kk block. I have an alphabet puzzle with letters A-K out. I will let Aryi Identify the letters from a few pieces and he can place the letters in his alphabet puzzle as we say A is for AAAA,  B is for BBBB, C is for CCCC, and so on. We can read whatever related books Aryi wants to that day. I have Alphabet books; ‘see, touch, feel ABC’, ‘abc’, ‘Once Upon an Alphabet’, ‘A is for Apple’ and ‘AB See”. I have books that feature Kk words; ‘I Love Pete the Kitty’, ‘The Kite’, ‘Kangaroo Kisses’, and ‘The Little Kangaroo’. I got the Kk word books from the library. This is a great way for us to practice our Kk sound when Aryi points to the things in the book and says what they are. Then we can do a Kk related coloring page or craft. I get some of these crafts from education.com and Easy Peasy All-in-one Homeschool. I also just make some crafts myself.

This format has been working well for us. Aryi thought we were playing and reading books like always, but we were learning too. I plan to have this basket out for the next two weeks then move on to Ll, so come back for that. Aryi comes to me and says basket, basket like 5 times a day. He enjoys this so much. To him it is play, to me, he is learning.

Number Basket:

I am keeping this number basket pretty much the same. I put the tactile flashcards back in. I have peg boards with the numbers 1-10. I also have all of our number books in here: ”Numbers”, “How Many?”, “Counting with Barefoot Critters”, “Big and Little”, “Let’s Count”, “Baby Math”, “Poppy’s Surprise”, “Few and Many”, and “Pop-up Peekaboo Numbers”. I also threw in some wooden animals to use as manipulatives. I have 1 pig, 2 lions, and 3 bears. The bears can also be broken down, 1 is a polar bear and 2 are brown bears. Two of the animals are little and three of the animals are big. I play number videos that I find on youtube sometimes.
