Lovevery Review 16: The Storyteller Playkit (Months 40-42)

We Are a few boxes ahead since I did our last reorder and got a few of them at the same time. It did not matter. He was able to play with and enjoy every single toy in this crate. I think the toys could be used by a wide range of ages. This also means they should last us years. I think most toddlers could play with them. Spoiler alert! We love this box!

Puppet Theater and Fort Covers with Easy Connect Fort Set
I absolutely LOVE this puppet theater!!! Aryi was losing it the first day we got it and it was all he wanted to play with for weeks. This Fort is the answer to Aryi outgrowing his play gym. This can be used as a fort, tunnel, pretend play house, or puppet theater. There are many different ways to put this together and there is even a guide on different ways to put it together. I do think this will be good for many ages. However, it is hard for Aryi to put together right now and I do have to help him at this age (which is fine). I mean nothing is more fun than a fort. This toy is open ended with endless ways to play. This one is also pretty. I did find a dupe on Amazon, and looking at it, quality seems questionable. The Dupe is about $10 more for what seems to be worse quality, and this is one of the cheaper ones I found.

Storytelling Puppet Set With Changing Emotion Eyes
The puppets are super cute. I love that they are not like a creepy little character or anything. They are almost blank with interchangeable emotional faces. This is great for playing out emotions. He can pretend to be sad, happy, surprised. He can make up almost any story with puppets as open ended as these. The Dupe is a few dollars cheaper, and kind of creepy.

Squeeze and Spray Mop
Aryi loves this. He likes to help us clean up. We also have the Melissa and Doug cleaning set and the lovevery spray bottle with squeegee. We do want to teach him to do these things while he is young and interested in them. I wish Lovevery had the other clean up toys like Melissa and Doug, but beautiful like the Lovevery toys. I would buy those too. The Dupe is basically the same but about $10 more.

‘Out the Door’ Book
This book is super cute. The girl has to get ready but keeps getting distracted. This is very relatable to us. They come up with solutions on how to get ready faster and get out the door on time. On top of this, they get to use their timer. This helped me figure out how to use our timer, and I think it helped him understand it more. The Dupe is about $10 cheaper, this has nothing to do with quality and mostly about how I divided the price of the kit.

Letter Sounds Animal Puzzle
This puzzle is AMAZING. This puzzle is all about lower case letters and letter Sounds. We have been working on this for the last year in preschool. This puzzle gives you the opportunity to work with lower case letters which are harder to recognize and differentiate than capital letters and more important since most things you will be learning in the beginning deal with lower case letters. This puzzle is two sided. On one side you match the letter to it’s identical letter and put the puzzle together. On the other side, you match the letter to an animal that has the sound of the letter. This is an amazing puzzle for preschool. I was actually very surprised to get something like this from them since most of the play things have nothing to do with preschool type things (excluding the reading skills set of course). The Dupe is about $1 cheaper, it does not have the jigsaw type of feel that will help with puzzle building going forward.

Book Bundle Books
Isaac Feels Disappointment
This is another big feelings book from Lovevery. They do a great job of coming back to big emotions time and time again. This is so important for kids at this age, especially mine.
Wei Saves the Day
This is a great book for ouchies. A little boy falls and gets an owuchie that then has to get a band aid. His friends help him. One gets a teacher, the other keeps him company. This is also a good book for helping people.
Both of these dupes are about the same as the Loververy books.
