Last week’s toys and books:
The theme of Lovevery Playkits 7 and 8 was a huge hit over the past week. Aryi played with every single toy that was out. I saw improvement with the cars, posters, puzzles, and stacker. Aryi especially loved the carrot poster and rabbits this week so I am leaving them out. I will also be leaving out the wooden books. I think we can have a ton more fun with these toys over the next week. I am also keeping the library books out for another week.
This week’s toys and books:
The theme for this week is Animals and Alphabet, with the small subtheme of fall since I am keeping out the fall books.
Animal Magnets (Melissa and Doug) and Alphabet Magnets (gift) – I saw someone putting out magnets with an oven pan. I thought that was genius. I decided to try it out this week. I keep these in zip locs so Aryi can not play with them unsupervised.
Wooden Animal Books (Lovevery) – This probably got the least play last week. In general I like to leave out the least played with and most played with toys. The least played with toys sometimes, Aryi just did not get to it. I want to give him a second chance to get to it.
Bug Container (Lovevery) – I left this out, just because of the animal theme this week.
Rabbits (Lovevery) – These were one of the most played with toys this week. I kept them out because I think there is more play to have. They also fit into the animal theme.
Carrot poster (Lovevery) – These were one of the most played with toys this week. I kept them out because I think there is more play to have. I can change the top and we can play with coins. So this toy gets multiple types of play throughout the week.
Ocean Animal Matching Coins (Aquarium) – I keep this in a box so Aryi needs to play with us. These are smaller coins that could be a choking hazard.
Animal Flashcards (Kiwico) – Aryi loves these. They are so fun. They have the animal sound on the back and name on the front. I put the nepali names of each animal on the cards as well.
Cow (Kiwico) – This cow Moos as you shake it. Aryi loves to make the cow moo and tell us “moo” when the cow makes the noise.
2D Farm Wooden (Kiwico) – This is a great toy for fine motor skills. Aryi opens and closes the doors to tell the animals “Hi” and “Bye Bye”.
3D Farm Wooden with Wooden Animals and Tractor (Kiwico) – These wooden animals are so cute. We can play with them by making their noise, put them in their barn or drive them in their tractor.
Farm (Fisher Price Little People, gift) – This toy is super cute. It makes so many sounds. There are like 5 doors you can open and close, practicing the concepts of in and out. You can feed the animals and practice their sounds.
Animal and Alphabet Books – I pulled out all of the animal and alphabet books I have to go along with this theme. Along with this I will pull out the easy peesy alphabet again. We are on D.
Fall Books – These are still out. I am planning on exchanging them for more fall books at some point this week, I think Aryi has gotten everything he can from them at this age.
