What We Got My 19 Month Old For Christmas: Aryi's Christmas Presents 2023
November 30, 2023
Knowledge Crate (from Mom and Dad)
This is what we got Aryi for Christmas this year. He is 19 months old. He will be 20 months old on Christmas day. Hopefully this will give you guys some ideas for Christmas presents for your toddler or a toddler in your life.
I have a few thoughts (maybe unpopular opinions) to share about Christmas presents:
Stockings are for practical life items. They are for toiletries, hair ties, nail polish, candy, and other little things to prepare you for the year.
Big gifts are from Mom and Dad. This isn’t really important this year since Aryi is not even 2 yet. However, in a year or a few years when he is talking to other kids about his presents from Santa. It is sad for a child whose parents have less money for Santa to hear how much Santa gave another child whose parents have more money. Therefore, Santa brings a few smaller presents and Mom and Dad get a larger present. Hopefully this will also help Aryi to appreciate that his parents gave him some nice Christmas gifts.
Knowledge Crate (from Mom and Dad)
This is a bigger present. It comes with 5 books and 20+ activities for Aryi to do. I think this box looks like so much fun. I know it is meant for preschoolers, but Aryi loves books and sensory play. I can modify some activities like the I spy. Aryi can just point to the things I want him to find. I can save the writing activities for later. Aryi loves animals. I am super excited for all of the animal play in this box. It should be tons of fun.
Lenox Ornament (from Mom)
My grandmother got me a Lenox Ornament every year from when I was born until she passed away. I intend to do this with Aryi. My Lenox Ornament was always my favorite present. I thought they were beautiful and looked forward to getting a new one every year.
Lovevery Shape Puzzle (from Dad)
I want my husband to have a space to get Aryi something he really wants him to have, so Aryi will also get a present just from Dad each year. This year it is this puzzle. This will be great to help him with his shapes and fine motor skills.
Bears and Cups (from Santa)
This is a super cute little toy. Aryi has been very interested in counting lately as well as color matching. This toy could be perfect for learning those things. But also, it is bears and Aryi loves bears.
Magnetic Tiles (from Santa)
Our Therapist suggested these for Aryi. I was already wondering if I should get some for Christmas, but her mentioning it put me over. I am a little nervous about the magnets, but I thought I will just put them up like our other magnet things. Aryi can’t play with them without supervision.
Play-doh (from Santa)
Aryi gets to play with play-doh when we go to a local library. He really loves this. It is great sensory fun. Like other presents this year, this will be played with under supervision.
Writing Tablet (from Santa)
Aryi has been liking to write lately. He will take our pens and try to write in a notebook or one a paper. I thought it would be good to have something like this for him that is mess free and reusable.
Train set (from Santa)
I have been so excited to get Aryi a train set this year. Aryi loves to say choo choo when he hears a train. We can play with this and read a train book. It seems like hours of fun. I plan to set this up for Christmas morning instead of wrapping it, having it set out ready to play with.
Stocking (from Santa)
Holztiger Bear
I get Aryi one of these Holztiger wooden animals for every holiday. For Aryi’s Christmas basket, Aryi got a polar bear. I thought it would be so fun to also have just like a regular brown bear. Aryi loves the bears at the Zoo. They are his favorite.
Cat bath scrubber
Aryi accidentally saw this and screamed “cat”. He hugged it and rocked it like a baby. I know he will love it when he actually gets it. We use sponges or loofahs on him in the tub. They make bath time more fun.
Tooth paste/Tooth brush
Like I said at the beginning of this blog, stockings are for practical items. Toothbrushes and toothpaste belong in a stocking.
Soap/Bath bombs/Bubble bar
Soap, bath bombs, bubble bars, anything to make a bath more fun. Aryi absolutely loves a bath. He splashes, pours, and plays with his animals for as long as I will let him. I recently did our first bath bomb. Aryi loved his purple water. He was amazed.
